The Insiders Favorite Hotel in Anaheim !

Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Waterpark

If you have seen our videos you will may have noticed that we like to stay at the Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Waterpark. We have made great memories there with pictures in the Waterpark back to 2006!

With over 4,000 park entries on our Annual Pass - (Remember when they use to tell you that number when you logged onto the website?) we can't always stay on property. While we love staying at Disneyland Resorts-If you aren't staying at the Disneyland Resort -this property is our favorite! It is walking distance to Disneyland, has a nice resort feel and spectacular customer service.

If you are looking for a little Retro Family Fun - the Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Waterpark is the place to go. More than a motel along Harbor Boulevard, Hojo has a nice resort feel. Tucked into the property you will find 6 buildings, a waterpark, hot tub, separate pool, photo spots, seasonal treasure hunts and its Mid-Mod Market. It is just a 7 to 10 minute walk (depending on if it is your first day or your 3rd day 😁) from both parks, the Downtown Disney area and several local restaurants and shops. You can easily get to the Disneyland Resort, the Anaheim Area activities like MLB, NHL and local breweriesas well as get to shopping, beaches, Universal Studios, Legoland and SeaWorld. It is a great location to center your vacation activities.

If you were thinking - it doesn't matter what the room is likebecause we are only there to sleep - wellthan you haven't stepped into the Hojo refurbished rooms after a long park day. The rooms welcome you with bright color schemes, fun artwork and the most comfortable beds ever. They have well lit bathrooms and a kitchen stand with microwave, refrigerator and coffee machine, perfect for a latenight snack or quick breakfast on your way out in the morning. Every room has a balcony or patio and lets you take in the beautiful CA weather while you unwind.

When booking your room - remember that Bldg 1 is the closest to the lobby and waterpark and has beenfully refurbished. The top (7thfloor) has wonderful skylights in every room. One side faces the park and the other faces the city of Anaheim. If you are looking for the premium rooms - this is your choice!

Building 2 is also refurbished and is closest to theswimming poolwith great courtyard views. It has 4 stories, houses the guest laundry and has a variety of room types available - most designated as the Deluxe Rooms. This is also where the House of the Retro Future - their signature Suite is located.

Buildings 3 thru 6 are called the Pavilions. These rooms are not currently refurbished (but it is planned for the next year). All 4 buildings are 2 story with skylights on the second floor rooms. There are no elevators, so you must take 14 stairs to get to the 2ndfloor. The views are all nice - with a choice of the courtyard side in all 4 buildings, the water park in Building 4 and the pool in building 6. These are the economy rooms and all have 2 double beds or a single king.

The Mid Modern Market is located in Building 1 and has necessities, snacks and a great selection of Disney Collectibles - including selections from the coveted Loungefly collection. It is always worth a stop by to see what they have on the shelves.
